Founded in 2021 by bioscientist Lucy Gaffney, Wild Plan blends scientific rigour with practical strategy to support businesses and NGOs at different stages of their nature journey.
Whether guiding a micro business through biodiversity self-assessment, or helping a nature NGO strengthen its governance and impact, our work is rooted in trust, transparency, and meaningful change.
In 2021, she founded Wild Plan and launched the development of Ireland’s national business and biodiversity platform, Business for Biodiversity Ireland. Lucy has held seats on several national and EU advisory boards, including the EU Commission’s European Business and Biodiversity Platform, the GoNaturePositive Impact Board, and the Steering Committee for Peatlands Finance Ireland. She also currently sits on the board of the East Cork Rivers Trust.
After addressing the Citizen’s Assembly on Biodiversity Loss in 2022, Lucy was named as one of the Irish Times 50 People to Watch in 2023 and UCD’s Class Acts 2024. She is widely recognised as a leading voice in Ireland’s transition to a nature-positive future.
She is passionate about nature conservation and proudly a member of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group and Birdwatch Ireland.

If your business would like to be considered for the next round of pilot participants, we’d love to hear from you. The pilot is designed to be light-touch, practical and genuinely helpful for organisations who want clarity on what meaningful nature action looks like.
Please complete the short expression-of-interest form below. We’ll get back to you with next steps, timelines and a brief outline of what the process involves.
If you’re unsure whether your organisation is the right fit, feel free to submit the form anyway — we’re happy to chat it through.
